There is a lot of interest in the General Manager role, but I am often asked what the position entails? It sounds interesting, but what is a typical day like?
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing operations in the community and are typically referred to as the CEO of the community. Their responsibilities typically include: overseeing financial performance, hiring and training director level positions, fostering a strong team morale, ensuring residents are receiving the best possible care, staying up to date on regulations and providing training to caregivers in compliance with DSS, building relationships with both residents and their families, working with the sales director to build relationships within the community to increase leads, and working with vendors in various capacities.
The ideal candidate will have experience with budgets, knowledge of HR polices and procedures, a can-do attitude, and experience managing personnel.
